HUMBLEApologetics

About

Why this exists

Most Christians believe true things they cannot yet explain. Someone asks a fair question — why do you think Jesus was God? how can a good God allow this? — and the answer is there somewhere, but not in words that will come out under pressure.

Humble Apologetics is a library for that moment. Every entry takes one hard question and answers it plainly: what Christians actually claim, why they claim it, the objections that come back, and the mistakes people make explaining it.

Written for the believer, not against the sceptic

This is not a site for winning arguments. The name is the whole brief. Apologetics done badly makes people louder; done well it makes them calmer, because they finally understand what they are holding. The instruction that governs the tone here is to be ready with an answer — with meekness and fear.

So every piece leads with the case rather than the attack, answers objections from a position of confidence rather than defensiveness, and says plainly where Christians disagree with each other instead of pretending they do not.

How it is written

Every answer follows the same shape: a short answer you could use in conversation, the explanation, the objections, the cautions, and an honest account of what all Christians hold versus where the traditions differ. Where an argument came from someone else, it is credited at the foot of the page.

Scripture is quoted from public-domain translations — the KJV — so the text can be reproduced freely.

Who is behind this

My name is Charlie. I build websites, and I study communication and marketing — which is most of why this site exists in the shape it does. I spend my time thinking about how an idea gets from one person to another without losing anything on the way, and it turns out that is the whole problem with explaining what you believe.

The other half is simpler. There is a fire in me for God, and I am a Christian who has been on the wrong end of this: asked something ordinary about my own faith and found I could not answer it. Not because there was no answer, but because nobody had ever put it to me in words I could repeat.

So this is written for the person I was. Not for a debate, and not for scholars — for a believer who wants to understand what they believe and be able to say it out loud, to a friend, without notes.

If you want to correct something, suggest a question, or just say hello, I would like to hear it.

The address is hidden behind that button on purpose. An email address written plainly into a page is collected by scrapers within days, and this is a small site that would rather not drown in it.
